Dear Jazz Educators and Student Musicians,

The Lafayette Generations in Jazz Foundation is once again sponsoring the County High School Honor Jazz Band on March 9th, 2008. Please encourage your top jazz students to audition for the band as it promises to be an exciting opportunity for them.
Students are required to attend all rehearsals, sound check and the performance. Have your students consider all dates. If they cannot commit to 100% attendance, they should not audition.

Auditioning students for the honor jazz band must pre- register through their high school music teachers no later than December 10th. Each student will pay a $10 audition fee. Payment details are on the registration form. On our website under the High School tab, review and download all necessary information and the audition registration form. Individual audition times will be scheduled.

Individually-Assigned Auditions: Sunday, January 13, 2008: 11:00am–1:30pm at Stanley Middle School Music Room, 3455 School Street, Lafayette. There are no walk-ons.

̧Rhythm Section: Be prepared to demonstrate reading ability of different jazz styles:

Rehearsals: Saturdays, February 16, March 1 & 8: 10:00am–12:30pm at Stanley Middle School Music Room
Sound Check and Performance: Sunday, March 9th, 2008, sound check at 2:00pm & performance at 3:00pm at the Acalanes High School Performing Arts Center, 1200 Pleasant Hill Road, Lafayette.
